Exterior ist im Filmkontext die Bezeichnung für Außenaufnahme. Dieser Begriff steht aber auch für offene Handlungsfelder, um außerhalb Liegendes zu erkunden, einen anderen Blickwinkel einzunehmen. Ausgangspunkt der Ausstellung war das Video mit dem Titel Modell einer Kommunikation (1993). Dieses Video wurde in der Galerie Stadtpark zum ersten Mal ausgestellt und bildete mit der Fotografie Il deserto rosso (1994), einer Kinoaufnahme aus dem gleichnamigen Film von Michelangelo Antonioni, die beiden Koordinaten, in die weitere Arbeiten eingebunden waren. Fotoarbeiten von entgrenzten Räumen, Menschen im offenen Raum. Der Raum ist die Wüste, die Projektionsfläche, der Imaginationsraum, die Spiegelung.
In the context of film, Exterior is the term for outdoor shots or location shots. However, this term can also be used for open fields of action, in order to explore things that lie just outside the immediate center of attention, or to gain another perspective. The starting point of the exhibit was the video entitled Model for a Communication (1993) that premiered in the Galerie Stadtpark in Krems, and together with the photograph Il deserto rosso (1994), a photo taken in the cinema during the projection of the Michelangelo Antonioni film of the same name, shapes the coordinates into which further works were integrated. Photos of de-bordered spaces, people in open space. The space is the desert, the projection surface, the space for imagination, the reflection.
